M. hasn't been able to sleep well as of lately and today he found himself awaken from a bad dream. Disheveled, late, he rushed for work as today has an important meeting with a client. When he got inside, the Boss was doing his speech--the Boss stared at him now, followed by a set of executives including the client himself staring at him. "Please. Sit down" said the Boss. Some people whispered, some people murmured. The Boss cleaned some dusts off his coat and proceeded to continue where he left off. Everything the Boss said was sophistry. The company took minutes while the client, from his eyebrows, clearly appeared unconvinced. The Boss must've known it too for in the middle of his speech, he, when the air was dire, passed the conversation to M. "Now, I'll let the CFO speak what he has to say about this project". What was there to say? "Uh. Everything he said was bullshit and you do NOT WANT TO partner with us"? M. found his brain overclocked, only able to stammer. "I...". The client's eyebrows were now filled with fury. The client interjected the conversation, "Well instead of that let me ask you this instead: Do you think this project is any worth? Hm?"
Later that day, M. was taken into Boss' room. M. wasn't sure what will become of him in the next 2 hours and 23 minutes. "You saved my ass", the Boss surprisingly quipped. What? "Oh! It was a sinking ship! a sinking ship!", the Boss now takes off his coat, wiping an entire sweat in his forehead with his handkerchief, "It was a calculated move from your side wasn't it?". M. doesn't know what to say. The Boss giggled, his cheeks were red, his teeth appeared wide. He went off to the indoor glass panes to close the blinds from employees seeing. "But... I'm afraid. I'll still have to reprimand you for that. I'm really sorry. This is for the sake of the company. You know right?". M. stared at the blinds which Boss immediately noticed. "No. Don't even think about escaping. I'm still your boss". Out of nowhere, M. thought of saying: "So you admit that it was your fault?". The Boss' face, believe me, became pale.
According to stories, Boss called him names along with profanities better left unwritten. Employees pretended the words never left the room all the while wanting to know everything. When M. got out the room thanks to the secretary telling the Boss he had another meeting, M.'s face was paler than white. Everybody watched as he rushed towards the emergency exit, leaving the building, met with the sun, and searched for his car. The security guard was watching over his car when the guard took notice of M. When M. saw the security guard, he grabbed him by the shoulder, "What do I do now? What do I do now? What do I do now?", he asks over and over again. No later than tomorrow, news of the event will spread everywhere. Under the sun, he shall forever be ashamed.
